What is an ionCube encoded PHP file?

ionCube protection stores compiled PHP instructions in an encoded container. A compatible loader normally reads that container at runtime instead of distributing ordinary readable source code.

An ionCube decoder analyzes supported container metadata and bytecode, then reconstructs PHP statements for inspection, maintenance, migration, and debugging. Only submit software that you own or are authorized to inspect.

How to decode an ionCube file

The browser workflow separates format selection, reconstruction, and delivery.

1Select ionCube

Choose the ionCube decoder and add a protected PHP file for preview, or a PHP/ZIP file in your workspace.

2Reconstruct PHP

The service detects supported metadata, extracts bytecode, and rebuilds readable PHP.

3Review and download

Preview the result, then download the complete decoded file or archive from history.

ionCube decoder inputs and output

The free tool accepts one protected PHP file and returns up to 15 reconstructed lines. Registered users can submit complete decode jobs and structured ZIP archives.

  • Free PHP source preview
  • Complete protected PHP files
  • ZIP archives with PHP files
  • Nested paths preserved
  • Private decode history
  • Seven-day file retention

Compatibility depends on the encoder container, target PHP version, serialization profile, and bytecode features found in the uploaded file. The preview is the quickest compatibility check.

What reconstructed PHP preserves

The decoder rebuilds executable structure from compiled instructions: functions, classes, expressions, control flow, constants, and other recoverable program data. Compilation may discard comments, whitespace, and certain original naming or syntax choices, so decoded source can behave correctly without being textually identical to the pre-encoded file.

PHP 7 and PHP 8 targets are handled through version-aware profiles when the file format and bytecode features are supported.

ionCube decoder FAQ

What does an ionCube decoder return?

It reconstructs readable PHP from supported encoded bytecode. Exact source formatting and information discarded during compilation cannot always be recovered.

Can I test an ionCube file without an account?

Yes. Open the free preview, keep ionCube selected, and upload one PHP file to see the first 15 reconstructed lines.

Can I decode an ionCube ZIP archive?

Yes. The signed-in workspace accepts ZIP archives and preserves nested paths for supported PHP files in the downloaded result.

What happens if a paid file cannot be decoded?

The job remains in your history for review, and the file credit is returned when decoding fails.
